Preface of Civil Engineering
Our planet particularly our country is full of natural resources. On the other hand nature shows its hostile behavior. Human beings always try to use natural resources properly. The histories of modern civilization, civil engineering have been at the forefront of the drive for the improvement of our standard of living. Civil Engineer always plays the key roles in the planning, designing and construction of the whole infrastructure for better civilization. Civil engineer builds roads, buildings, railways, culverts, canals, bridges, dams; fly over, stadiums, disaster protection structures, earthquake protector arrangements etc.
Civil Engineering:
We have already started a new educational institute in Bogra under TMSS. The name of our institution is TMSS Engineering College (TEC). It is affiliated by a public university (Rajshahi University). Due to increase in the scope of civil engineering with the passage of time, it has now got diversified into many branches of study. Some of the significant ones include structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, hydraulic engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering and a few more important areas of study.
Now a day’s Civil Engineering is one of the demanding subject/faculty and our Civil Engineering department is equipped with adequate experienced & skilled teaching staff, sophisticated lab facilities, multimedia classroom facilities and library facilities with national and international standard.
The main aim and objectives of this department is to offer academic program coverage including important branches and disciplines of Civil Engineering. The department covers a wide range of course curriculum and follows GoB rules & regulation.
The department is actively involved with the activities of the national and international engineering professional bodies; apart from the academic programs, the department organizes the comprehensive training on computer aided, design, drawing and project management through centre for intensive service of TEC. The department also arranges field visit, study tour, seminars and programs as extra-curricular activities.
To be a skilled civil Engineer in practical field all necessary mechanization are available such as ready mix facilities, excavator, hydraulic lift, roller machine, total station, level machine etc. The laboratories are up to date.
